Birbirsa Kojowa Site
Situated at the heart of West Guji Zone, Oromia, is Birbirsa Kojowa Coffee, which interestingly reflects just how deep our commitment to growing exceptional coffees really is. It sits at 2042 meters above sea level, coupled with vertisol soil whose inherent qualities are richer in nutrients and therefore suitable for growing coffee. Our location is Latitude 5.80126, Longitude 38.5257, and temperatures vary from 17 degrees to 30 degrees Centigrade throughout the year, thus offering a perfect environment for the growth of our Old World heirloom coffee varieties.
We have the capacity to process up to a million red cherries annually with our high-technology wet-processing machine since it can pulp red cherries at a capacity of 4000 kg per hour. One of our large sites, about 2.8 hectares, is well supplemented by approximately 210 beds used to dry the coffee, implying that through them, each batch of coffee will be painstakingly dried to perfection. The rainy seasons, February to May and July to October, are periods during which we expect our coffee plants to gain much of the required moisture. In contrast, the flowering period from February to April ensures multiple harvesting throughout the years, especially from the months extending from October to January. As a community partner, we are proud to provide regular employment to 15 people under this contract and on a casual basis to as many as 145 people, both skilled and unskilled. Dimtu Site
Situated in the central part of the Oromia region, precisely West Guji zone and Hambela Wamena woreda, Dimtu Coffee Site is located at 2,100 meters above sea level. The distance from the main road to our site is only 200 meters, thereby not causing one problem and creating a serene environment ideal for coffee growing. It is approximately 1.8 hectares with a unique composition of red and black loam soil, which forms the backbone of raising our coffee plants and contributes to the rich flavors defining our beans.
On top of this, Dimtu Coffee Site practices natural dry processing methods and has dry mill facilities. We source our coffee with due care to guarantee variance in every batch by our terroir. This coffee comes with a potential yield of up to 500,000 red cherries and an average production capacity of 250,000 kg. It gives esteemed rich flavors with distinct profiles. Perfect growing conditions are provided by the rainy season, which runs from March to October. The flowering period is from January to March, allowing us to harvest thrice a year. The main harvesting season is from November to January.Not only great coffee do we care about producing, but building our community economically. We employ 7 permanent staff and in the peak harvest season give seasonal work to up to 120 temporary workers. Buku Abel Site
The serene landscapes of Buku Abel district in the heart of the Oromia region form the West Guji zone. Our prime coffee grows in the evergreen beauty of Hambella Wamena wordea. We only process Natural Dry Coffee using traditional methods that unleash the full spectrum of flavors. This is our platform to serve our industry with quality and sustainability. Beyond coffee, we pride in being a catalytic agent of community development while offering 5 permanent staff jobs and creating employment for 125 temporary workers. Buku Saysa Site
Located right in the heart of the Oromia region, exactly in West Guji Zone of Hambela Wamena, the Buku Saysa Coffee site is a reflection of the heritage of Coffee in Ethiopia. Our site does benefit from a very rare altitude of 2,286 meters above sea level a guarantee of better climatic conditions without a doubt, giving the best quality that is realized from our crops. With GPS coordinates of 6.024400 latitude and 38.448785 longitude, the fertile red clay soil is suitable for many coffee varieties, such as Dega, Kurame, and 74110, which grow perfectly harmoniously within this pristine setting.
Quality is reflected in processing capacity, which can run up to 400,000 red cherries every year. The site covers approximately 1.4 hectares, equipped with about 120 drying beds, which guarantee our quality beans are meticulously prepared for flavor. With a mean temperature of 21°C, and two rainy seasons from February to May and July to October our coffee plants enjoy the best atmosphere for remarkable harvests during the flowering period from March to April and harvesting season late November to late January. Buku Saysa Coffee Site grows high-quality coffee while uplifting the community. We are proud to support 158 member farmers, employ nine contracted and 65 casual workers. Benti Nenka Site
The Benti Nenka Coffee Site is located in the lush Oromia region of Ethiopia—-in the hidden gem of the West Guji zone—-and more specifically in the Hambela Wamena woreda. Our farm is located at an ingenious altitude of 2,019 meters above sea level, at GPS coordinates 5.924098 latitude and 38.469417 longitude. This combination of elevation with our fertile red clay soil makes it possible to raise special coffee varieties of Dega, Kurame, and 74110 in order to produce an exceptional coffee.
We are proud at Benti Nenka to develop this sense of community, resulting in a cooperative of up to 157 farmers working with our processing capacity of up to 400,000 red cherries each year. Our site is located on about 1.22 hectares of land, with around 100 drying beds that genuinely reflect meticulous care for our coffee beans throughout. Our coffee plants do best—from flowering in January to March and harvesting between November and January—in a temperature that averages at 22°C and experiences two distinct rainy seasons, February to May then July to October.We are not just all about high-quality coffee but we are committed to generating job opportunities through community engagement. At the moment, we have 10 permanent workers and offer casual employment to 65 people of the skilled and unskilled categories. Bishan Fugu Site
Located in the very heart of Oromia, more specifically in West Guji Zone and Hambela Wamena Woreda, is located Bishan Fugu Coffee a premier location for specialty coffee. Our site, at an impressive altitude of 2,154 masl/7,067 fasl, with a near-perfect climate and rich red clay soil, provides an ideal setting to grow extraordinary varieties of coffee: Dega, Kurame, and 74110. Our farm has a GPS latitude of 5.909530 and longitude of 38.586610, put in the right strategic location to harness the uniqueness of the terroir, adding to the distinctive tastes of our coffee.
Formidable coffee processing capacities have the potential to process 400,000 red cherries at our site, which is on an area of about 1.4 hectares. The site has enough space for about 124 drying beds, enough to give us quality preparation of our coffee. The second round is from July to October, making the moisture for proper growth moisture-sufficient because we have an extended rainy season from February to May. Our flowering period is also at the ideal time, from January to March, to ensure several harvests can be done in a year. Harvesting is done from the months of November through January, so we can pick the best cherries that are at optimal ripeness. Foge Site
It is situated at the heart of Oromia, within West Guji zone and an Abaya woreda, right in the midst of the region of euphoric coffee growing at an altitude of 1,928 meters above sea level with GPS coordinates 6.156712 latitude, 38.148087 longitude. Additionally, our altitude, coupled with perfect red clay soils, allows us at Foge Coffee to grow premier coffee varieties among which Koti, Fayate, 74112, and 74110. Plants have done very well on this land throughout the year because the temperature varies between 15°C and 30°C in every degree.
We have a community of 306 smallholder farmers who act as vital contributors to the Foge Coffee industry. Spread over 1.1 hectares of our site, it can handle an intake of 350,000 red cherries annually. With about 92 drying beds, we take good care in our drying process to ensure great flavor and high quality. The rainy seasons are from February to May and July to October, which help our plants, while the flowering period evidenced from January to March leads to several harvests within the year towards the climax of the harvesting season from October to December. We stand for more than just great coffee-making, focusing also on meaningful job creation opportunities at a local level. Currently, we employ around 10 employees under annual contracts, and a pool of about 75 casual skilled and unskilled workers as needed. Our hulling plant has the capacity of 550 kg per hour for cleaned coffee, hence efficient in the services that we provide. Dekitu Site
Located in the picturesque region of Oromia, West Guji Zone, Hambela Wamena Woreda, Dekitu Coffee is dedicated to the pursuit of producing excellent specialty coffee. Our station lies at an altitude of 2115 meters above sea level, with very rich red clay soil that nourishes our coffee plants. With GPS coordinates set at 5.909117 latitude and 38.491933 longitude, our farm is located very well, making use of the special microclimate that ennobles the taste in our types of coffee Dega, Kurame, and 74110.
With a pretty well-prepared site, around 1.1 hectare, at Dekitu Coffee, we are able to process over 400,000 red cherries every year. With an optimum temperature of around 21°C, our flora has an ideal climate to thrive in, which allows many healthy plants with bright flavors to be grown. Our premises house about 93 drying beds, ensuring that every batch of coffee gets the due attention needed for the ultimate quality. The rainy seasons from February to May and July to October would provide the moisture needed by the plants. The flowering season is from January to March, which allows multiple harvesting for the year. In that regard, the major harvesting period is from November to January each year.We are pleased to be a community enterprise, and we give job opportunities to nine permanent staff members and sometimes 70 casual workers, both skilled and unskilled. Yirgacheffe Chelchelle Site
Yirgacheffe Chelchelle Coffee Site is located in the very scenic Sidama region, precisely in the Gedeo zone and Gedeb woreda. It stands amazingly at 1,991 meters above sea level with GPS coordinates of 5.908643 latitude and 38.356498 longitude. Our rich red soil, approximately 2.2 hectares in our area under ideal climatic conditions, provides the most ideal environment that best enables us to nurture our varieties of coffee plants, including Kurmue, Dago, and Wolisho.
With our processing ability at Chelchelle in Yirgacheffe, we are able to archive one million red cherries per year. The wet, state-of-the-art processing machines that we have will keep up the very high-quality standards with a capacity of 4,000 kg of red cherries per hour. This is because we can handle around 150 drying beds, attending to every stage of the drying cycle, which is so important for our coffees to unlock all flavors and aromas. We have two rainy seasons, from February to May and from July to October, which form the backbone of the cultivation season. This stretches from February to April, it has a flowering period that ranges from February to April, after which it undergoes several harvests within the year, and finally, our harvesting season, which is from October to January.We have managed to develop our communities by way of meaningful employment. We currently have 11 contract employees, besides undertaking casual work for 160 members of the community who are skilled and non-skilled on a daily basis. Indeed, at the Yirgacheffe Chelchelle Coffee Site, we delight not only in the creation of fine coffees but also in uplifting the people who in turn can sustain this heritage of the Ethiopian coffee landscape.
